Rep. Pete Aguilar: Adam will do the work
Valley Solutions: With Adam Gray in Congress, there is much we can do
Synopsis: Pete Aguilar, the highest-ranking Latino in Congress and chair of the House Democratic Caucus, says there are lots of reasons the Latino community should support Adam Gray for Congress. But the most important is that he listens, he understands the community’s needs and he will do the work.
Homero Mejia: ‘Family, please go out and vote’
Valley Solutions. School Board trustee Homero Mejia talks about the need to vote
Synopsis: Modesto City Schools Board of Trustees member Homero Mejia talks about the importance of being heard and of making a difference in the Nov. 5 election. For those who do not speak Spanish, here is what Homero had to say:
“Family, please go out and vote. It's so important. We think that a vote does not make a difference, but in reality, your vote can make a difference in determining who represents us at the national level to be able to pass legislation to things, to things that are going to impact our lives and the lives of our children. Go out and vote, it is very important. One vote can make a difference and this November 5 vote for Adam Gray in Congress in District 13.”
Martha Acevedo: Med school is a reality
Valley Solutions. Martha Acevedo talks about Valley’s med school.
Synopsis: Martha Acevedo, a Merced educator, talked about the importance of having a medical school “right down the street.” Like many in the Valley, she suffers from chronic illnesses that local doctors have a better chance of understanding.
Jerome Rasberry: ‘He gives’
Valley Solutions. Renaming of the Merced County Courthouse ‘Was Huge.’
Synopsis: Adam Gray was instrumental in getting the Merced County Courthouse renamed in honor of Charles Ogletree Jr., explains community activist Jerome Rasberry Jr. His vision was essential to getting the state to fund transportation corridors that will lead to economic development in places like Atwater, Crows Landing and Merced. He spearheaded efforts to help River Partners secure funding to create floodplains throughout the Valley, lessening the dangers of flooding in Newman and Grayson and even Lathrop. People are talking about these contributions and more as Adam Gray runs to represent California House District 13.
Julie Rentner: Water leadership crucial
Valley Solutions. Valley Solutions talks to voters about Gray’s contributions.
Synopsis: Julie Rentner, the president and CEO of River Partners, provides an enthusiastic, 45-second endorsement of Adam Gray, who is running for Congress to represent California’s 13th Congressional District. The District is home to California’s newest state park – Dos Rios, which was reclaimed from once-marginal farmland by Rentner and River Partners. The park not only provides recreational opportunities and much needed Valley habitat, it also provides a bank for groundwater and protection against flooding for the communities of Grayson, Newman, Patterson and Gustine. Julie believes stronger leadership in Washington – like that shown by Adam Gray in Sacramento -- is absolutely critical to continuing to creating more floodplains in the Valley.
